Why do I paint a red picture?

First of all, my paintings are beautifully drawn, like illustrations, people's faces and figures,

It is not a kind of thing that can see concrete shapes such as creatures and plants.

I sublimate the thoughts and ideas that pop into my head into concepts and transfer them to two-dimensional paintings.

The concept is very important and occupies part or half of the work, and the two are combined to become the work.

And once you know the concept, your view of the work will change, so please read slowly until the end.

About "red color"

 Part 1

I believe that the color red represents the history of mankind.

It can be said that the history of mankind is also the history of genocide and the history of weapons.

The blood that flowed = red color

Weapon flame with firepower = red color

It may be the color that has painted humanity while being repeated many times.

On the other hand, the flame represents hope that illuminates the darkness.

Complicated thoughts intersect in one color. It resembles the flickering of flames.

Hope and despair appear alternately on one screen.

I draw while thinking about where I stand in the current era, based on history.

Part 2, with hope

Until now, I have been working on the theme of why people draw pictures.

I finally figured out the answer myself.

I don't suddenly express all of those answers at once, but gradually turn them into works.

In ancient cave paintings, paint was made from clay.

Red flames illuminate the cave.

Imagining how to look at the drawn picture, I think that the inside of the cave was dyed red.

This is why I used paint and chose the red color.

Two elements such as earth and fire intersect on the screen.

◆History of fires and disasters

Fire has been special since time immemorial.

Fire has been worshiped as a god and festivals have been held.

Fire is also a proof of industry. For example, the lights of the blast furnace symbolize modernity.

Through red paint in a single picture

A long time intersects from ancient times to the present and possibly the future.

◆And the blank part represents the light. Of course, the cave, the light that seeps into the darkness.

Drawing a red fire will inevitably cause the light to appear at the same time.

If you draw a red dot = flame, a margin = light will appear. Also, if you draw a flame, light will appear. It repeats over and over again.

This is where the "accumulation of light" comes into play.

The light carries the meaning of hope.

I hear that in the Romanesque period, people depended on light to live.

I drew a wish that I could get through the current corona vortex.

Another title for this work is "accumulation of hope".

Why do people draw pictures? not just ask me for the answer

I put my thoughts into the work so that the viewer will be inspired to think about it.

It can be like a suggestion.

I believe that stopping and thinking is the major role of contemporary art.

Part 3 What color are you?

One day, I had the idea to compare myself to a color.

Until then, I had been painting colorful paintings with black works and oil paintings that were conscious of ink,

Ultimately, I wanted to ask myself what color I was.

Not gold, not silver, not blue

I didn't get an answer right away, but a red color came to mind.

Burn quietly.

I'll never give up.

I felt a surge of strong emotions

Part 4 Influence of Yves Klein

Yves Klein is famous for his Blue work.

At the age of 19, he met Claude Pascal and Armando Fernandez, and they talked about dividing the world into three on the coast of Nice.

I've heard that Eve chose the sky and its infinity, leading to her subsequent blue-colored works.

If I was with 3 people at that time, I would have chosen the color of the sun = red.

I fantasized about it.

Red color, how far can you express with that one color?

It's a challenge.
